Provenance. Jochen  is a glassmaker who creates functional, tactile glass objects in his east London studio. He works intuitively, centring the practice of making and allowing spontaneity and idiosyncrasies to find their way into his designs.

Collection. This collection of organically conceived drinking glasses, carafes and vases is made from durable and heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Their characterful coloured rims are inspired by kintsugi, a traditional Japanese art which celebrates the practice of mending broken pottery making repaired cracks visible with powdered gold. The uneven rims of Jochen’s pieces are accentuated with vivid hues; the curious textures were created with found objects, burnt wood or perforated metal.

Product description. A red, yellow or soft lilac rim trims this curved beaker, its form nestling neatly inside the hand.
